TorrentFreak: Kickass Torrents is back again on a new domain called Katcr.co. As per reports, the renewed launch of the site is done by the original community members. In August 2016, Kickass Torrents was shut down after Artem Vaulin, owner of KickAss, was arrested in Poland. The Arrest was by the US Justice Department on charges of copyright and piracy violation. Many Torrents sites are known to be relaunched after being Shut Down by the government.

The post published by TorrentFreaks members said, “The majority of our original Staff, Admins, and Moderation team joined us after Kat.cr went down – which is something we’re very proud of. This shows the loyalty, dedication and real love for KAT that we all share.” Most of the torrent websites have found to be clone after it’s shutdown, but TorrentFreaks teams say that the sites is real and not a clone. When the News were out about the Kickass Site is live again, the website was filled with a lot of members and the site crashed. Although the site is back with under-construction tag.
Torrents sites have been under the scanner for some time now. Torrentz, another popular Torrent websites, shut down after the high-profile arrest in Poland. At that time, Torrentz was ranked 186 in global website ranking by traffic analysis website Alexa. To prevent a similar incident happening again, the DMCA clauses, it is pointed out once a user logs on to KAT, have been painfully and scrupulously carried out this time with the proper ‘DMCA takedown procedure.
The admin members of Kickass had launched the katcr.co forum which indicates that they will back. Now, they are indeed back with a fully operational website with a new URL (Katcr.co).
